Hi! Looking for feedback on a resort for 5. Looking at POR, suite at AOA or cabin at FW. POR seems to be the best price so wondering what the thoughts are in terms of space and accessibility to theme parks, pools, & food to weigh my options Thanks!

Hi Kristi! Thanks for stopping by to see us again at the Disney Parks Moms Panel.

You've narrowed down your Walt Disney World Resort hotel search to three great choices. And I've stayed at all three, so let's help you find your perfect fit.

Disney's Port Orleans Resort - Riverside is in a beautiful setting, with a very good food court and a fabulous table service restaurant. It's a boat ride away from Downtown Disney, while you'll take a bus to the Theme Parks. The rooms are standard hotel rooms, so space may be an issue for your larger family. It accommodates 5 with a Murphy bed that would be fine for a small child.

The Cabins at Disney's Fort Wilderness Resort & Campground are spacious and sport a full kitchen so you can prepare some meals yourself to help with costs. You can take a boat to the Magic Kingdom which is very convenient, but getting around Fort Wilderness itself means renting a golf cart or using the internal bus system. The cabins sleep up to 6 people, including bunk beds that will be a hit with the kids.

Speaking of kid favorites, Disney's Art of Animation Resort tops the list with larger-than-life characters in the courtyards, whimsical theming in the Guest rooms, and amenities like the Big Blue Pool. You'll take a bus to the Theme Parks, but it's a quick trip. One of this mom's favorite features at the Art of Animation family suites is two, count 'em, two bathrooms. To me, that's a game changer!

I know it's a tough decision, Kristi. I think it comes down to prioritizing space, price or location to decide which way to go. If there's anything else we can do to help narrow it down, please visit again with another question. We love to help!

    Have a magical day,

    Kathy K.

I've lived my whole life just an hour's drive from Walt Disney World, so I've been a regular visitor for as long as I can remember. Even after all these years and so many visits, I love that there's still so much to discover! Now that I'm a mom myself, seeing my favorite place through my son's eyes has given me a whole new perspective that I enjoy sharing with other parents of young children. Learn More About Kathy
