I am looking at going to Disney World In July due to schedule and this will be our 1st trip. Which Value Resort is the best place to stay? Is it worth getting the parkhooper? Which meal plan is the best for character dining? I have 2 girls 9 and 6.

    Hi Amy,

A number of my colleagues on the Moms Panel have raved about Disney's Pop Century Resort.  If I were booking a room in a value resort this July, that's where I would stay.

For a first trip to Walt Disney World, I don't think you will need the the park-hopper option on your tickets.  There is so much to see and do in each theme park that you can easily fill your day without having to switch parks.

As for dining plans, I would select the Disney Dining Plan that includes one table service meal, one quick service meal, and one snack per person, per day.  What is fabulous for your travel party is that both your nine- and six-year-olds will be charged the children's rate, which is a real steal.  I've found that the Disney Dining Plan is the least expensive way to feed children at Walt Disney World.  If you pay attention to the prices you would have paid out-of-pocket, I think you'll be shocked at the savings.  The table service credits can be used to pay for character dining experiences like Chef Mickey's and the Crystal Palace, so I believe this would be the best dining plan for your family.  Don't forget to call (407) WDW-DINE to make reservations soon.

Wishing you a magical stay at Walt Disney World!
