We are looking at going to Disney in 2013 when our girls will be 4 and 6. Is it too early to start planning? I'm really excited about going and can't wait!!! Thanks!

    Hi Louanne!

It is never to early to plan a trip to Walt Disney World!  By calling Disney, you can reserve a hotel room up to 499 days in advance of your intended check out date.  However, you can not make an on-line reservation until the actual 2013 pricing has been released.  Historically, rates are released in mid to late summer for the upcoming year.  If you call when the 499 day window opens, what Disney does is charge you for a  single night's rate based on 2012 prices and then automatically adjusts your rate when the 2013 pricing comes out.

Packages can only be booked once the 2013 rates are released.  However, you can easily convert a room only reservation to a package by simply calling.  Also, if any applicable discounts come out between now and then, you can call and try to have those applied to your reservation; there are usually limited numbers and conditions so not all discount codes will apply.

I personally recommend having a Disney hotel booked at least seven months in advance.  That really helps when you go to make Advanced Dining Reservations (ADRs).  ADRs can be made up to 180 days in advance and they are critical for the Table Service restaurants.  The most popular restaurants actually fill up close to the 180 day window.

I hope this helps!  Write back if you have any more questions!
