I am looking for details regarding ADA amenities at Fort Wilderness, specifically bathrooms and cabins. We are planning a family reunion for 2019, and I have an Aunt who is VERY worried that she "can't come" because she is a major fall risk.

    Hi Jinger,

There is no better place to plan a family reunion than the Walt Disney World Resort! What I love about a visit to the most magical place on earth is that Disney and the amazing Cast Members go above and beyond to do everything they can to make it a magical place for everyone.

You'll find that there are many wonderful resources available for Guests who need some extra assistance. Perhaps your aunt would feel better if she or a member of your family chatted directly with a Cast Member at Disability Services to ask them all of the questions that would help you make an informed decision about whether or not this trip is wise for her. You can reach them at (407) 560-2547 or disability.services@disneyparks.com. I'd also, of course, encourage you to talk with her doctor. I can tell you today, though, that at The Cabins at Disney's Fort Wilderness Resort, you'll find wheelchair accessible rooms that offer roll-in showers as well as support rails near the toilets. These same cabins also offer ramps to enter the cabins rather than stairs. They make a wonderfully peaceful retreat with all of the magical Disney touches that make your getaway feel so special.

I can tell that you care very much about your aunt, Jinger, and I'm so thankful that you brought your wonderful question to us at the Disney Parks Moms Panel. Please let us know if we can help with anything else, and I hope that your family has a truly magical vacation together!
