We are looking at coming to WDW in June and will be brining a 12 yr. old. What would be a good resort for us to stay at?

    Hi Tanya:

This question has many correct answers, and I'm always eager to give my opinion.

For a 12 year old, check out the Yacht or Beach Club Resorts, which share the Stormalong Bay pool, considered by many to be the best pool on property featuring a major water slide, several sections, and a lazy river.  Not only are these Resorts centrally located near that entertainment and restaurants of the Boardwalk area, but they are a quick walk away from Epcot, and long walk or short boat ride away from Hollywood Studios.

I also recommend Animal Kingdom Lodge, especially if you reserve a savanna-view room where your family can watch the animals walk by right outside your window.  The pools are great at Animal Kingdom Lodge. AKL Jambo House is home to the 11,000 square foot Uzima pool. The pool boasts a 67-foot slide. There is also Pumbaa's Fun and Games Arcade. AKL Kidani Village is home to the wonderful Samawati Springs pool.

If you are looking at a Value Resort, Pop Century has great themeing which your 12-year old may appreciate.

    Enjoy your vacation.
