Hi Tammy! Camping in
Fort Wilderness Campgrounds is a wonderful and unique experience. Disney has some of the best facilities in the country for comfortable camping.
Since you are flying it is going to be a bit more difficult as camping requires specific supplies. Disney's Fort Wilderness does have tents available for rental use but it is only if they are available. Group camping takes precedence for the tents. If you are able to rent a tent from Disney you can also ask that they erect the tent on your site which is an amazing service.
Sleeping supplies are important and most will use sleeping bags and air mattresses for comfort. Flashlights are a must and during hot weather fans are just as important. If you are not going to cook meals then you don't have to worry about cooking supplies but most campers do indeed cook some of their meals during their stay.
Walt Disney World is a casual destination so bring minimum clothes to cut down on luggage. There will be laundry facilities at the campgrounds if you need to do some washing during your stay and you can purchase the needed supplies there.
Pack what you normally would for personal needs and don't forget to include sunscreen and bug spray. You want to be as comfortable as possible but being minimum of luggage. It is not easy when camping but the Trading Post at Fort Wilderness can often fill in the blanks with things you can't include in the suitcases. Have a great time and enjoy one of my favorite places to be at Walt Disney World!
