Hi! We are looking at booking a WDW Resort Package using a military discount. Are we eligible for promotions such as the "kids eat free" (with purchase of the dining plan)?

    Hi Cindy!

Welcome to the Disney Parks Moms Panel! We're so glad that you found us hEAR, and thank you for asking a great Walt Disney World Resort vacation planning question!

Mine is a Military family too, and I am so thankful for the way that Disney shows their appreciation to U.S. Service Members through such great promotions and offers. Military families can book any of the listed promotions that are available to everyone, or we can use any (or all!) of the great Military rates and promotions, but not both. This is mainly because Ticket + Room + Dining Special Offers, Deals & Discounts packages, such as the current 'Tasty Kid-Sized Package' or the super popular 'Free Dining' for everyone in your party promotions are already offered at a special rate that they don't qualify for a further discount.

However! You can take advantage of all of the offers available just to us by purchasing the really great Military multi-day promotional theme park tickets and pairing them with a Disney Resort Hotel room-only military rate. You can also add a Disney Dining Plan at full price, which isn't normally the case for guests booking a room on property but buying their tickets elsewhere. There's even a special Military price on the "starts immediately" Memory Maker PhotoPass package! (For full details on the military Memory Maker offer, scroll to the bottom half of the promotional ticket offer details page.) And another pro, I think, of planning your vacation this way is since this isn't a grouped package, final payment isn't due for your Disney Resort Hotel Room or Disney Dining Plan until check-in whereas packages need to be paid in full 45 days before arrival. (You absolutely can pay off your trip before arrival, it's just nice to know that there's a bit more time to do so.)

I hope this helped to clEAR things up a bit, Cindy, and if you need any more help planning your upcoming Disney Days We're All Ears!
