I am looking for advice about taking a 2year old to WDW. We are planning on being there the 1st week of December and we are veteran Disney travelers, but have never taken a toddler before. Any helpful tips would be appreciated. Thanks!

Hi Stephanie - you have come to the right place!  Most of us moms have taken young children to Disney before, and highly recommend it.  Here are a few tips:

    • If your child is an early riser, like mine are, then hit the parks early.  I like to get there at opening, and go to the popular attractions first.
    • Bring snacks and water for lines.  It always seems that my kids get hungry/thirsty when we are just about to get on a ride.
    • Plan your "must-see" attractions in advance and make sure you get to those first
    • If you aren't sure how your child will react to the characters, take him/her to see a "face" character first, before seeing a larger than life character like Mickey.
    • Book character meals in advance, as they are the best way to see the characters with no waiting in line.
    • If your child still takes naps, make sure you don't interrupt his/her schedule too much
    • Bring your own stroller from home
I hope that helps!  Have a great vacation!
