Looking for advice for making fast pass selections in advance for a 5yr old girl who’s 44”tall ;)

    Hi Allison,

Thank you for visiting the Disney Parks Moms Panel with your question. I remember when my daughter was five years old and visiting Walt Disney World! What a fun age to take children to Walt Disney World. They are getting old enough to enjoy so much, but still have that twinkle in their eyes when they see the magic at Walt Disney World!

A child who is 44 inches in height will be able to experience almost any attraction at Walt Disney World! There are some attractions with 44 inch height requirements, so she will likely just make those. The only ones I can think of with a taller height requirement that she could not ride are Rock 'n Roller Coaster at Disney's Hollywood Studios, as well as Primeval Whirl at Disney's Animal Kingdom. Those rides have a 48 inch height requirement. You can check this Disney Parks Blog Post for information on height requirements, and they are listed on individual attraction pages as well.

For a 5-year-old, the trick is to know your child. Is she ready for intense thrills, or is she still preferring the slower rides? You might want to start with some more tame roller-coaster type attractions such as The Barnstormer before moving up to more thrilling rides such as Big Thunder Mountain Railroad or even Space Mountain. Also, consider your girl's emotions. Five years old is right around when our daughter first got up enough courage to try Haunted Mansion! I always feel like you cannot go wrong with classic attractions such as Peter Pan's Flight, too. I recommend that you have your girl watch some videos of attractions to see which ones she thinks she might like to do before making Disney FastPass+ selections.

Please do let us know if you have any further questions, Allison!
