Lookin for advice regarding few hotel benefits for kids (9,7,4) - Want to stay at Contemporary, but showing unavail at this time. What are benefits of being on monorail? Recommend Grand Floridian or Polynesian? Which has better pool? 1st trip

The benefits of staying in one of Disney's monorail resorts, Darla, is that you are afforded the convenience of travel to the Magic Kingdom.  For families with young children, this can be a huge perk because you can push your stroller right onto the monorail without having to stop and fold it up like you would on the bus.  If you're choosing between the Grand Floridian and the Polynesian based on pool, I'd probably opt for the tropical feel of the Polynesian.  Both resorts feature zero entry pools, but that of the Polynesian offers a themed volcano slide which is popular with kids.  The downside is that the pool at the Polynesian can feel more crowded than the one at Grand Floridian.

I know that my children are more "wowed" by the Polynesian than they are the Grand Floridian.  That said, the Grand Floridian is Disney's flagship resort and offers guests both luxury and magic.  Good luck with your decision!
