Long time WDW AP holder! Will be going to Disneyland in August and want to know if I build a lightsaber at Savi's workshop if they'll ship it home for me? Would rather not carry-on plane!

Galactic greetings to you, Christopher, and welcome to the Disney Parks Moms Panel!

First off, thank you for being a longtime Walt Disney World Resort Annual Passholder! We’re excited to have you explore a galaxy far, far away in Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge at the Disneyland Resort this August!

I sense the Force is strong with you, and I have no doubt you’re going to build an amazing lightsaber at Savi’s Workshop – Handbuilt Lightsabers. I am happy to report that yes, you can have your lightsaber shipped to your home after you’re done. While making your purchase, simply let one of the Gatherers (a.k.a. Cast Members at Savi’s Workshop) know that you’d prefer to have your lightsaber shipped, and they’ll be more than happy to assist you with this process. If you change your mind and prefer to travel with your lightsaber, I have heard of Guests bringing their lightsaber as their carry-on, and storing it in the overhead compartment of their airplane. The 31” lightsaber blade can be removed from the hilt (the base) to make this possible. Of course, it’s always a good idea to call your airline ahead of time to make sure this would work for you.

Have you heard the exciting news about the reservation system for Savi’s Workshop and Oga’s Cantina? Reservations can currently be made up to 14 days in advance for both experiences! Additional same-day reservations will be made available daily at 7:00 AM Pacific, subject to availability. According to the Disney Parks Blog, soon, both Oga’s Cantina and Savi’s Workshop will follow the 60-day reservation process currently offered for restaurants and experiences requiring reservations.

To make a reservation for either experience, you can check availability online, or with my favorite handy helper, the Disneyland app. I also recommend downloading the Play Disney Parks app for an interactive, immersive Galaxy’s Edge experience.

Wishing you safe travels to Batuu this summer! May the Force be with you!

Meet the Panelist: Kristin, California

Hello from sunny California! I currently live less than an hour from the Disneyland Resort, and have been an Annual Passholder for about 20 years! As a mom of three kids under the age of 7, I consider myself an expert at navigating the Disneyland Resort with little ones. My family of five can’t get enough of the magic and happiness we encounter every time we step foot on Main Street, U.S.A. I look forward to sprinkling pixie dust on your next visit to “The Happiest Place on Earth!”
