Beauty and the Beast at Magic Kingdom

How long do you think it would take to have lunch at Be Our Guest and then head over to Animal Kingdom (Kilimanjaro Safari)? We are trying to determine if we should keep our reservation or switch to something at Animal Kingdom.

    Hi Kelly,

Welcome to the Disney Parks Moms Panel! I am delighted that you brought this question to us!

Be Our Guest Restaurant is one of our favorite dining venues in Magic Kingdom. When I checked the My Disney Experience Mobile App, the estimated transit time is 51 minutes. Once you leave Magic Kingdom, just catch the bus to Animal Kingdom. If you want a faster option, you could try the Disney Express Transportation Option. With this service, you get unlimited direct transportation between theme parks.

Given that crowds can change and there are occasional delays, I suggest that you give yourself at least an hour to travel between parks. If you dine at Be Our Guest, I also suggest that you pre-order your meals. Doing so will save you valuable time at the restaurant on the day of your reservation. The last time we visited Be Our Guest, we did not pre-order our meals and spent 30-40 minutes in line to order even though we had a dining reservation. Guests with dining reservations at Be Our Guest can pre-order meals 30 days in advance and I definitely suggest that you do! Once we received our food at Be Our Guest, it did not take long to eat so I would give yourself at least 45 minutes at the restaurant if you pre-order.  If you do not, give yourself at least an hour and a half to complete the dining experience.

If you choose to dine in Animal Kingdom, there are some great restaurants there. Be sure you have made your Fast Pass+ selections for Kilimanjaro Safaris.

I hope you have a magical time Kelly!
