How long does the sign up process for the Padawan Academy take if you go there 1st thing? Will it be so long that Toy Story Mania will be a 30+ minute wait standby when we get there? Want to do TSM twice, once on FP+, but my 4 yr old HAS to fight Vader!

    Hi Ken ~

It can be really hard to make decisions about the things you really want to do at Disney. Jedi Training Academy (JTA) is always very popular.  Any young Padawans that want to participate usually head to the ABC Sound Studio to sign up as soon as they enter Hollywood Studios. For purposes of planning, I would allow at least 30 minutes to sign up for Jedi Training Academy. Hopefully, it won't take that long but if you are planning a dining reservation or FastPass+ time, giving yourself at least 30 minutes should help you schedule your day.

In my experience, the line for Toy Story Midway Mania! builds super fast especially if you are visiting during a peak season. I would expect the line to be a 30 minute or more stand-by wait after you finish registering for Jedi Training Academy. Going there right after registering will probably give you the shortest stand-by wait time of the day so I would head right over.

Watching your 4 year old battle Darth Vader can be a once in a lifetime experience so you may want to make registering for Jedi Training Academy a priority when you arrive. At least you'll already have a FastPass+ for Toy Story Midway Mania! that day.
