For as long as I can remember, there has been a character dinner at the Liberty Tree Tavern. It is our favorite place to eat when we are visiting the Magic Kingdom and Disney World in general. Is there a reason why they discontinued this?

Hi Laura! This is a million dollar question that has been asked often. Liberty Tree Tavern has also been one of my families favorite Magic Kingdom dining spots and it still is but we too miss the characters at dinner!

The character dining decisions are made looking at many factors and not taken lightly.  Although we might miss this experience right now it doesn't mean that Disney won't consider bringing them back in the future.  The Magic Kingdom does not have a great deal of table service restaurants so they try to balance the demand among them all.  There are also three great resorts connected to the park via the monorail where guests can leave easily to head to a character meal in one of them.

I watch constantly for word of character return to the Liberty Tree Tavern.  I hope it will happen as many of you do also!
