Hello April!
Downtown Disney is a wonderful place to eat, and shop in Walt Disney World and the best part is no ticket is required! Downtown Disney is made up of three sections: Downtown Disney West Side, Pleasure Island, and Downtown Disney Marketplace. The T-Rex Restaurant is located near the middle of Downtown Disney at the beginning of the Downtown Disney Marketplace area.

here for information and a map of the Downtown Disney area. Downtown Disney's West Side has many restaurants, shops as well as
Cirque du Soleil La Nouba and
Disney Quest.
The Pleasure Island area of Downtown Disney is currently undergoing a transformation from an adult nightlife theme to a shopping and dining family theme. Downtown Disney is a very large area with a lot of walking if you go from end to end.
I would recommend going to the Downtown Disney Marketplace area because there are lots of things to do that are interesting to kids. Some of the things in the Downtown Disney Marketplace area are:
1. The Lego Imagination Center
2. The World of Disney Store
3. Mickey's Mart
4.Ghirardelli Ice Cream and Chocolate Shop (you get a free piece of chocolate)
5.Goof's Candy Co.
There are many more great stores in this area too so the amount of time that you spend at Downtown Disney after your meal at the T-Rex will depend on how much shopping that you want to do and how much fun that you want to have!
Keep Dreaming Big!
