How long does it take to enter the paid lot, park your car, and then get through the turnstiles to experience the fun? (Assume I have my tickets in my hand)

    Hi Barbara,

Thanks for visiting the Disney Parks Moms Panel. That's a really tough question. The answer can vary greatly, depending on the park, the time of day and the time of year.

At Animal Kingdom, Epcot or Hollywood Studios, where the parking lots are close to the entrance, you can often zip through in just a few minutes. Magic Kingdom always takes longer because the parking lots are bigger and you access the park from the Transportation and Ticket Center, either by monorail or ferry.

You are arriving a couple of days before Christmas, which is normally the busiest week of the year. If your goal is to be in place when the gates open (and that would be my plan!), I'd allow at least an hour to navigate transportation, security and entrance for Magic Kingdom, at least 30 to 45 minutes at the other parks. Remember, many other guests likely will be doing the same thing. So relax, be patient and take in the scenery and decorations along the way.

(There's a nice pastry and coffee stand at the Transportation and Ticket Center if you need sustenance or a caffeine boost while you wait.)

Wishing you a magical holiday visit to the Walt Disney World resort. Please let me know if you have any other last-minute questions I can assist with. Enjoy!
