    Sandi from FL Asked

How long is the average time it takes to get from Orlando International Airport to Disney's Polynesian Resort mid-day, mid-week?

Hi Sandi! I’m so glad you brought your question to us here at the Disney Parks Moms Panel! You’re going to have an amazing stay at Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort.

When it comes to drive time between Orlando International Airport and your resort, you can expect a 30 to 40-minute trip. If you’re arriving mid-day and mid-week, I wouldn’t expect to find too much traffic during your commute.

Sandi, did you know that Disney’s Polynesian Resort and Disney’s Contemporary Resort both opened on the same day and were the first Walt Disney World Resort hotels on property? These elaborately themed resorts opened their doors to the public October 1, 1971.

During your stay at Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort, you will be just a few minutes away from the Magic Kingdom Park if you use the Resort Monorail. It’s so convenient when you are ready to rest after you’ve had a fun-filled day at the park. You are just a few minutes from your comfortable room!

Make sure to keep your eye on the shoreline of your Resort hotel, where you will have a nightly up-close view of the Electrical Water Pageant- Magic Kingdom Park. You can expect to hear the familiar Disney tunes and see the twinkling lights beginning at 9:00 p.m. every evening.

I hope this information is helpful to you! Don’t hesitate to drop by again if you have any other questions. Helping you plan your magical stay is our pleasure!
