How long is it from the AKL (where we will be staying for 2 weeks) to the Polynesian or Grand Floridian by bus transportation? We are on the dining plan + want to try all the character meals and wonder is the experience worth going the extra distance? X

    Hey Lisa!

Welcome to the Disney Parks Mom Panel! Thank you so much for bringing us your question.

Transportation between resorts can be a little tricky. Any trip between two resorts via Disney Bus Transportation will require a transfer. For travel from Disney's Animal Kingdom Lodge to both Disney's Grand Floridian Resort & Spa and Disney's Polynesian Resort, you would take to the bus to the Magic Kingdom then jump on the resort monorail. For the return trip, jump back on the resort monorail to the Magic Kingdom then catch the bus, boat or monorail to your next destination.

Anytime you are traveling between two resorts you should plan for at least 1 1/2 hours travel time. This takes into consideration any extended wait for the bus at the Animal Kingdom as well as any wait for the resort monorail. If you happen to arrive a little early I recommend touring these amazing resorts. You might even spy a Hidden Mickey or two.

I hope this helps with your vacation planning. If you have any other questions please come back and see me.

Wishing you a magical vacation and a pixie-dusted day!
