Hi, we live in the U.K. and have booked our Disney vacation for Christmas and New Year. We plan on buying our regular 14 day unlimited pass. However we want to know for entrance to Magic Kingdom on Christmas Day, do we need to purchase an additional ticket

    Hello Natalie!

It is a pleasure to welcome you to the Disney Parks Moms Panel!

There is nothing more magical than visiting the Walt Disney World Resort during the the most wonderful time of the year! Some of the fondest memories I have from my childhood include spending Christmas Day at Magic Kingdom Park with my family.

You do not need to purchase an additional ticket to enter Magic Kingdom Park on Christmas day, you are welcome to use regular theme park admission. There are, however, a few tips that I usually share with friends and family so they can make the most of such a special day at The Most Magical Place on Earth.

This is a one of a kind experience for Guests from all over the world, so it is one of the busiest days of the year to visit the park. I recommend arriving early and staying late. Unlike other times of the year, on this day I do not recommend going back to the hotel for a quick midday break and returning later. It is not uncommon for the park to reach capacity during the day and then you will not be allowed to re-enter. Book reservations for either lunch or dinner at a table-service restaurant to enjoy a nice meal and take a break. My favorite dining destination on Christmas is Liberty Tree Tavern. Be sure to make FastPass+ selections and take advantage of early planning starting 60 days before check-in if you are staying at a Disney Resort hotel, and use the My Disney Experience mobile app to check availability for new FastPass+ experiences once you have redeemed your third selection. I also suggest checking park hours to confirm parade and fireworks show times in order to best plan your day.

Natalie, Guests are required to purchase separate admission in case they wish to attend Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party. Party dates for 2020 have already been announced and tickets are available for purchase. The last party of the season is scheduled to take place on December 22, so in case you arrive before this date I highly recommend attending this jolly celebration filled with special shows, treats, parades and fireworks at Magic Kingdom Park.

Thank you for bringing your question to the Disney Parks Moms Panel! Please stop by real soon as you plan your holiday.

    Best magical wishes,
