I live in Canada and want to purchase gift cards for our grandaughters (who also live in Canada) for Birthdays and Christmas. How do I go about this if I want them in US money?

    Hi Cindy,

Welcome back to the Disney Parks Moms Panel and thank you for asking us another question. It’s a pleasure to see you again, my fellow Canadian!

Unfortunately, there is no way to ship Disney Gift Cards in US dollars to Canada. The only way for us to load them with US funds is to actually go to the United States and visit a retailer that has them available for purchase.

Several Canadian retailers have started, however, to offer Disney Gift Cards themselves. Your granddaughters will be able to use these cards when they visit Walt Disney World Resort the same way as gift cards in US dollars, they’ll just have to pay a conversion rate when they first use the card. After that initial purchase, however, they’ll be able to see exactly how much money they have left on their card in US dollars by checking the bottom of their receipt; that exchange rate will be “locked in” for the rest of the Card’s balance.

I hope my answer helps you plan birthday and Christmas gifts for your granddaughters this year. Please don’t hesitate to come back and see us if you have any other questions about a Disney Parks vacation.

    Have a Magical Day,
    Lynne
