    Natalee from ON Asked

Live in Canada. We were at Disney sept 2014. Planning a trip for June 2016. Last time we drove, this time we will fly. Can we use the magic bands from our 2014 time for our 2016 trip and how do you do it? I hear the magic bands are used by the magical.

    Hi Natalee,

Welcome back to the Disney Parks Moms Panel and thank you for asking us another question!

Yes, you can absolutely use your MagicBands from a previous visit to the Walt Disney World Resort during your visit in June 2016. All you’ll have to do is make sure that your Resort Reservation is linked to your My Disney Experience account. Once that’s done, make sure that your family’s MagicBands are still active and you should be good to go for your upcoming visit! Don't forget to tell the Cast Member at Check-In that you’d like to use your existing MagicBands so that they can make sure that they’re set up properly (for things like opening your hotel room door and charging privileges).

One quick note: I believe that you’re asking about the fact that Disney’s Magical Express scans Guests’ MagicBands when it’s time to board your motor coach to the Walt Disney World Resort. As you know, as Canadians, we unfortunately have to pick up our MagicBands at our Resort. But you don’t absolutely need a MagicBand to board Disney’s Magical Express!! All you’ll need to do is provide the documentation that came with your luggage tags in order to be allowed to board.

I hope my answer helps you plan your upcoming vacation and please don’t hesitate to come back and visit us if you have any other questions!

    Have a Magical Day,
