My little guy is 6 and has one leg shorter than the other and wears a leg brace.. it causes him pain to walk long distances. The zoo this year was problematic for us so I'm assuming disney might be too. He's too big for a stroller.. any suggestions?

    Hi Victoria,

The Walt Disney World Resort offers so many fun attractions and entertainment; however it is a very expansive space. There is really a lot of walking and speaking from experience, by the end of the day I am quite exhausted from all of the walking. Since your local zoo was difficult for your son to navigate, I would highly suggest that you find something to accommodate his needs while touring Disney Parks so that he can really enjoy all of the magic that is sure to surround him!

The great thing about the Walt Disney World Resort and Disney Parks in general is that they are extremely accommodating when it comes to guests needs. You will most likely see a lot of people using motorized scooters, wheelchairs, and special strollers designated as wheelchairs.

Disney World does offer wheelchair rentals on a first come first serve basis at the Theme Parks, Downtown Disney Area, and at Walt Disney World Resort Hotels (based on limited availability.) You may need to place a refundable deposit on file and daily prices are approximately $12 per day (prices are subject to change at any time.) Depending on the season, if you are staying multiple days you can Pre-pay for the number of days that you will need a wheelchair and it will save you money. Prices are approximately $10 a day if this option is available at the time you travel. When you visit a park you will need to present your receipt at the rental location to receive your wheelchair for that day. You also are allowed to bring in and use a personal wheelchair if you have one.

I hope that you and your son have a pixie dusted vacation that is pain and stress free!
