I have a list of concerns for our upcoming trip. I have a 4 year old and a 85 year, how do I get the most of the parks for this age group. we are military and are staying off site, a 2-or 3 day pass? Help me plan the best for

    Hi Kerin,

Thanks so much for stopping by the Moms Panel. Let me start off by saying this: Hakuna Matata! I know that it can seem overwhelming to plan a Walt Disney World trip, especially for different age groups, but no worries! There's a reason that families of all different sizes, types and ages come back year after year. There is something for everyone to do, and whether you're 5 or 85, you will have the time of your life.

Now, let's start off with your accommodations. Did you know that Walt Disney World not only offers military members discounted theme park tickets, but also discounted accommodations at a Walt Disney World Resort? As a military member, I love to take advantage of this deal. Staying on property really does release some of the stress of vacation planning. The Disney transportation system is great for everyone in the family, and you don't have to worry about parking each day. Since I have a 3 year old who naps, and a Granddad who needs breaks during the day due to his knee and back issues, it's a lifesaver to send them both back to the rooms for some well needed rest. Be sure to look into pricing for the military discounted Disney Resort rooms. It may be cheaper than staying off-site.

A 3 day pass would be the best way to see most of the park. You'll be able to dedicate a day to your top 3 parks. With the age gaps, I would suggest visiting Magic Kingdom, Animal Kingdom and Epcot. Those 3 will have fun activities and attractions for every age, without anyone feeling overwhelmed.

I'm almost out of typing space, but please feel free to directly send me any more of your questions and we'll get your vacation all squared away with minimal stress. I'm here for you.

Have a fantastical Disney day, Kerin!
