When linking a credit card to magic band for charging do they put a hold on a certain amount of money on your card? Also how does tipping work with magic band? is the credit card on file at mydisneyexperience account used as charging or can you change it

Hello Amanda and welcome back to the Disney Parks Moms Panel!

I find the MagicBand very convenient and when used to their fullest potential they can certainly make keeping things organized much easier. When you check into your resort you will be asked if you would like to provide a credit card (or debit card with the Visa or MasterCard logo) for purchasing and incidentals. If you provide them with your card the information will be connected to your room and your MagicBand will charge back to your room. You do not have to use the credit card you utilized on My Disney Experience. No charge or hold of any kind will be placed on your card unless you reach the predetermined limit or the morning of your departure (whichever comes first). The typical preset limit is determined by the level of Resort where you are staying. Currently those limits are:  Value - $500; Moderate - $1,000; Deluxe - $1,500.  Of course, as with all things, these limits are subject to change so you will want to inquire at check in what the limits are currently.

For tipping, you will receive a receipt to sign much like any dining establishment where you use a credit card. That receipt will have a space for you to write in a tip amount. It is as easy as that!

Enjoy your trip and see ya real soon!

Meet the Panelist: Anne, Iowa

I’m Anne, a native Iowan, wife, mother, and grandmother. For me, a major part of the fun of a Disney trip is the planning. I have traveled to the Disney Parks in multiple stages of my life, including as a daughter, sister, aunt, mother and grandmother. While I can’t pick my funniest Disney memory – either my 70-year-old mother on The Twilight Zone Tower of Terror or my 4-year-old grandson on Dinosaur – I am thrilled to be able to help other Disney guests plan their adventures.
