still lil confused when meals use 2 dining credits. upgrading to premium or platinum dining. if i wanted to only use 3 meal credits per day and i use 2 for dinner, then i would have to skip a meal, pay out of pocket, or eat breakfast in hotel room, right?

    Hi, Erica!

    Great question!

When a Table-Service Restaurant requires the use of 2 TS entitlements, you will have only one remaining TS entitlement for that same day. Keep in mind, however, that your entire set of entitlements will be pooled into one account, rather than on a daily basis, so it's still possible for you to enjoy an additional meal on a particular day if you are able to do so.

We often arrive late at night or leave early in the morning on our trips to Walt Disney World, so the day's worth of entitlements that we were given in our Dining Plan, but could not use that day, enable us to double up here and there with no worries. Also keep in mind that there may be a day or two when you eat a large late breakfast and an early dinner, so you wouldn't mind "skipping" that third meal, especially when you still have snack credits to enjoy throughout that day. We often book a 10 a.m. character breakfast, for example, which lasts until 11 or 11:30. Dinners can be scheduled as early as 4:15, again, lasting over an hour or so. That would be the perfect night for us to use some snack credits for some tasty treats we'd otherwise skip, such as a funnel cake, a jalapeno cheese-stuffed soft pretzel or a carrot cake cookie (which is a double-decker treat, sweet cheese layer between, and is as big as my fist.) On your Disney Premium Dining Plan, you have TWO of these snacks per day; that can go very far.

We also grab a pastry and a coffee or juice for breakfast, or pack some breakfast treats for early morning park openings. That, too, would be a day when we'd rather skip a sit-down breakfast, with our day planned around a delicious lunch and dinner.

I've got some great tips on using those snack credits and packing well so that a third meal will never be missed. Send me another question if you'd like to hear more; I'd love to help!
