What is a less crowded time for eating dinner (if any) in the various parks. We'd like to lean toward later eating times but less crowded dinners are also important.

    Melanie:

Like you, I like to eat at Disney when there are fewer diners in a restaurant because of the noise level that can get to an uncomfortable pitch affecting two of my family members who have high-frequency hearing loss. What I have found, though, varies according to each restaurant.

    • If a restaurant is open all day, for example the restaurants in the theme parks like Crystal Palace, the only real lull of the day is around 3:30 to 4:30 in the afternoon as those grabbing a late lunch have departed and the early-dinner crowd hasn't yet arrived. Waiting until after 8:30 p.m. can also find the restaurant thinning a bit if you're so-inclined. Typically the later reservation times are also easier to come by on Disney's online dining reservations system. So, it looks like you're in luck.
    • FYI: Restaurants that are not open all day like Ohana, Chef Mickey, and California Grill have their lowest crowds at their dinner opening at 5 p.m. but I have found that these times are also the most coveted. Good news for you is that a late seating is easier to come by, but these restaurants are out of the park and may not be what you're looking for. However, they're worth nothing.

    Wishing y'all a magical vacation!

My family of 6 appreciates Disney's value! Although Ft. Wilderness is our second home, we've enjoyed the resorts for business, reunions and romantic getaways. For me, Disney also means dining: last count, I'd eaten at 55 restaurants around the World! Learn More About Whitney
