We are leaving for Disney in 2 weeks!! (Jan 21-28) Yay! I have been studying The Unoffical Guide to Disney....do you think it is necessary to use the tour plans (as the crowd levels should be light)?

Hi Stacey! I can feel the excitement from you with your Disney trip soon approaching!

I think it is always a good idea to come to Walt Disney World with a plan.  However, it is not necessary to stick to it like glue. There are so many wonderful things happening that sometimes you just might want to forget that planned dining or the next attraction on your list of "to do" so you can participate and enjoy something else.  Late january tends to be one of the less crowded times for the parks so you should be able to see and do more then if you were there at a peak time.

My suggestion would be to make dining reservations now as that can get frustrating if you cant' find a nice place to rest your feet and relax for a meal.  Plan those according to where you will be on property and there are many to choose from.  http://disneyworld.disney.go.com/wdw/dining/diningFinder?id=DiningFinderPage                             Next, make a list of the things you and your family "Must Do", then a list of "If We Have Time", and finally a list of "Its Ok If We Miss These On This Trip".  Head to the parks and have a general plan so you are able to accomplish all those "Must Do's" that fit your family needs.

Relax and enjoy your experience and don't get too attached to a plan that it causes you stress. I am sure you will find the magic of Disney as I do on every one of my trips!
