Leaving in 13 days for 1st visit! Coming from Canada and not sure about checking our bags with ME. I understand we have to claim bags, go through customs and then re-check? Maybe we should just drag them to the bus ourselves? Your thoughts?

    Hi Rita,

Whenever I have flown from Canada to Orlando (sometimes I drive across the border and fly from Seattle or Bellingham as it is a much cheaper option!), I would attach my yellow tags for Magical Express on to my luggage as usual, check it in at the airport and the next time we see it will be at our WDW Resort.  As long as you go through the U.S. Customs and Immigration in your Canadian airport no claiming and re-checking of your luggage is necessary.  This is what happens on the Canadian side, but for the Orlando side as I mentioned if you are flying directly to the States from Canada and you have already gone through U.S. Customs and Immigration, then you will not need to claim your luggage and recheck it in Orlando!  So, my advice for you would be to let your bags go directly to your WDW Resort so you don't have the hassles of retrieving it and lugging it all on the bus if you don't need to.

The only thing that you will not be able to take advantage of is the express luggage and airline check-in service at your WDW Resort (when you are checking out of your WDW Resort and leaving for home).  This is a service for which you can check your luggage and receive your boarding passes at your resort and it saves you having to do it at the airport.  You will need to be on a domestic flight as well as traveling with a participating airline to use this service and unfortunately you won't fall into both of these categories.  So, on your return trip home you will bring your luggage onto the Magical Express coach (they will stow it in the compartments underneath the coach during your ride to the airport) and then check it in yourselves with your airline at the Orlando International Airport.  Have a magical trip!

    Best wishes,
