We are leaving on Alaskan cruise on July 13. Are jeans allowed for evening dining or does my husband need to wear docker type pants. Also wondering for children being allowed to wear jeans and tennis shoes. We are seated in second dining. Thank you

    Ahoy, Kimberly!

Thanks so much for stopping by the Moms Panel with your question! I know you must be getting so excited about your upcoming Alaskan adventure. Disney Cruise Line's Alaskan itineraries are amazing, with gorgeous scenery and awesome Port Adventures!

Your Alaskan itinerary will feature mostly "cruise casual" dress code for evening meals, as well as one Semi-Formal night and a Formal Night. While nice jeans are acceptable for cruise casual evenings, you'll want to pack dressier clothing for the other evenings. Though dress-up nights are optional, I always encourage guests to make the most of the opportunity to get dressed up and take advantage of the onboard photography services.

Each evening, you'll find several stations set up for photo ops, either with favorite Disney Characters or lovely Disney Cruise Line backdrops. We always opt for a family photo on the Grand Staircase. It's also fun to see the Characters out and about on Formal Night. Have you ever seen Donald Duck in a tuxedo? He's the cutest!

Did you know that children that dine in the late seating have the option to participate in the Dine and Play program? With the Dine and Play option, (only available during second seating), younger cruisers have their meals expedited and served first. As the kids are finishing their meals, Youth Counselors make their way to the dining rooms to escort them to the Oceaneer Club. This allows the adults in your party to dine at a more relaxed pace without the worry of a child eager to head out to play! After dinner, the grownups can explore the ship on their own while the kiddos have a blast with other young guests in the Youth Clubs.

I hope this helps with your planning and packing! Have a magical day! - Diane W.
