Is there a leave a legacy opportunity for a loved one at Disneyland?

    Hello, Mandi!

Thanks so much for stopping by the Disney Parks Moms Panel with your question. “Leave a Legacy” was a special, limited-time program where Guests’ faces were etched on steel tiles between 1999 and 2007 at Epcot in Walt Disney World Resort. While this opportunity did not exist at the Disneyland Resort, there is a feature that acts as a sort of time capsule for Guests. The next time you visit, pay close attention to the paving stones lining the esplanade between Disneyland Park and Disney California Adventure Park. These were part of a program called Disney’s “Walk of Magical Memories," which allowed Guests to purchase a 10-year brick "sponsorship” to become a part of Disneyland history.

This program was discontinued in 2011 and plans to reinstate it haven’t been mentioned, but the personalized commemorative paving stones, many of which feature families’ names and dates, remain in place for Guests to view. I, for one, hope a similar opportunity comes up again since I missed the chance to purchase one before! Always keep an eye on the Disney Parks Blog for the latest announcements about new projects and events on deck for the Disneyland Resort. We may get another unique opportunity to leave our mark on the Happiest Place on Earth someday!

Please visit again with any other pixie-dusted questions you have, Mandi. We’d be thrilled to help you plan!

    Wishing you magic,
    Courtney
