Mom And Daughter Resort Room

What is the least expensive time of the year to vacation at WDW? We are a party of 6 (4 kids and 2 adults) and would also like to know which resort would best suit our family?

The least expensive time to visit WDW is called the value season. Value weeks are scattered throughout the year, but they are primarily concentrated in the fall, from after Labor Day until just before Thanksgiving. For the past several years, Disney has offered free dining plans as an incentive to travel during this time. This has not yet been announced for 2008, but you should keep an eye out, because this would be an incredible money saver if they repeat the promotion.

The most economical places for a family of six to stay would probably be the new family suites at the All Star Music value resort. These rooms sleep six and include a small kitchenette. There are also many larger villa-type rooms at many of the resorts, but these would likely be more expensive.

Another idea would be the cabins at Fort Wilderness. I was able to tour some of these just yesterday. They were very spacious, with a full kitchen, a living room with a cool pull-down Murphy bed, and a bedroom with a double bed and twin bunks.

    Hope this helps.
