I am late 40s and in a wheelchair. Hubby and I want a balcony, daughter & her hubby want inside. Their son is 2 (in crib), daughter is 5. We want 3rd bed in both cabins so kids can sleep where they want. Suggestions on which cabin to book 5 yr old?

Handicap-accessible staterooms are barrier-free with such amenities as open bed frames and ramped entrances to the bathroom. These rooms are limited so you must call Disney Cruise Line to request a medical form. That will be your first step in securing a handicap stateroom. You can call 407-566-3500 for assistance.

Next, take a look at the Deck Plans section of your DCL brochure.

Since you desire a verandah, you'll have Categories 3, 5 and 6 to choose from with handicap staterooms and a balcony. Please note that it will be a solid wall verandah as they are on the Aft side of the ship.

The least expensive category would be 6. These handicap rooms are on Deck 6.

There are nearby Category 11 inside staterooms for your daughter's family.

In Category 6 and 11 staterooms there will be a couch that converts to a single bed. My son finds this bed very cozy and loves returning to our stateroom at night to find that the Stateroom Host prepared his bed for him.

Some of these rooms have a wall pull down bed in order to sleep 4 people.

You can also request on your reservation that you will need a "pack-n-play" crib for the younger child.

Cruising is a wonderful vacation for extended families!
