    Candy from TN Asked

Is it too late to plan an early October vacay for 4 adults and a 6-year-old boy? We won't do any character dining (he's a bit too old for Mickey), but is it too late for other restaurant reservations? And, is it easy to plan around allergies?

    Hi Candy,

It's never too late to plan a Walt Disney World vacation! I live about an hour away and we often make spur-of-the-moment trips, either making reservations on our way or winging it when we get there. Some of our best visits are those when we just go with the flow.

I think you will find that a number of good dining options and FastPass+ reservations are still available.

With advanced dining reservations less than a month away, I suggest looking at early or late dinner times for the best availability. Or think about making this a trip where you primarily eat at quick service venues. The options keep getting better, especially at Disney Springs, where the new counter service eats include Blaze Fast-Fire'd Pizza, D-Luxe Burger, Morimoto Asia Street Food and more.

Walt Disney World is known for its accommodations for guests with allergies. Allergy-friendly menus are available at many quick service and table service restaurants. At table service spots, you can ask to speak to the chef about your allergies. At counter service restaurants, you should make your allergy known and ask which foods can accommodate your needs. You will find more special dietary information on the Disney website.

Wishing you a magical impromptu visit!
