On our last trip my DD's were 2 and 3 and really didnt know to be scared of anything, now they are terrified to the point of trembling of everything. I have been planning this trip for 3 years and fear I will be really dissapointed. Any suggestions?

    Hi Michele,

For the most part, Disney is filled with pretty Princesses, lovable characters and happy heroes. I'll give you ideas by Park on what to avoid so that you go home with only magical memories. Please know that Mickey & the "good guys" always win in the end though. In addition, they really won't be getting close to the villains..they'd be looking at them from a distance. Still, if they tend to get scared, why risk it?

Hollywood Studios: Plan on avoiding the Fantasmic show. Mickey encounters many of the Disney villains & it can be a little frightening.

The Sea Witch is in the Ariel show and parts of the Beauty & the Beast can be scary for little ones.

The Great Movie Ride has scary parts.

Magic Kingdom: "Snow White's Scary Adventures" lives up to it's name.

Avoid Stitch ride, it's a bit "dark".

Stage Shows & Parades: Sometimes the shows in the front of  the Castle (which are amazing, by the way) have some of the villains, as do the parades.

Captain Hook is on the Peter Pan ride. Avoid Haunted Mansion for the ghosts & overall scary theme.

Epcot: Questionable - "Maelstrom". It's a boat ride in Norway in the World Showcase. The ride is a lot of fun, there's just a troll at one point.

Animal Kingdom: Avoid "It's Tough To Be a Bug" if they don't like bugs. Also, Dinosaur: They may be too small for it anyway, but I figured I'd mention it. Skip this ride, it's down right scary.

If your girls tend to be scared, just let them pick what to go on. Be sure to educate yourself about rides in advance so there aren't any surprises. My youngest has been going to Disney since she was 3 months old. She's my nervous one, so if you need further input about how she reacted to a particular ride just send me a follow-up. I'm happy to help!
