Last time we visited Disneyworld(early 2010), our son particpated in a Pirate Adventure that left from Port Orleans Riverside, is that still available, and/or are there different activites we can book that start from the resorts?

    Hi Ashley,

My family have just returned from a fabulous 8-night stay at Disney's Port Orleans Resort - Riverside and I can tell you that young buccaneers ages 4-12 can still sail the Sassagoula River to exotic "ports of call" from the Riverside Levee Marina in search of treasure and adventure on a Bayou Pirate Adventure.

Adventures are available on Sunday, Tuesday & Thursday from 9.30am - 11.30am. For reservations, call (407) WDW-PLAY or visit the Concierge desk.

If you would like to experience a different Pirate activity that the whole family can participate in, I can highly recommend the Pirates & Pals Firework Voyage which leaves from Disney's Contemporary Resort. My family experienced this for the very first time just last week and it was definitely a highlight of our visit.

Normal operating hours are Friday through Monday, with the event starting one hour and 15 minutes prior to the scheduled fireworks spectacular at the Magic Kingdom. However the Pirates and Pals Voyages will be sailing seven nights a week from November 20, 2011 through January 1, 2012.

    Wishing you a magical trip!
