Couple dining

We are a large group. Our seating is for the early dinner. Some of the couples want to have dinner alone at Palo. How do we book at Palo so the kids eat but the couples have their private dinner? I have only seen options for the late seating.

Welcome aboard, Tracey! The kids have plenty of options for dinner that night when you have reservations at my favorite spot onboard, Palo. Depending on the timing of your reservations, you can attend the rotational dining meal with them but just not eat, and then head off to Palo afterwards. We've done this a couple of times, and it was so nice because we got time all together, and then we dropped the kids off for fun in the Youth Clubs while we went to enjoy the chef's delightful creations at Palo.

Another option is to let them get a meal at one of the Quick Service spots on the pool deck for dinner before you take them to the clubs and go to Palo yourself. My kids have also really enjoyed ordering dinner from the yummy and complimentary Room Service menu so they can enjoy a Disney movie on our stateroom television and eat dinner while my husband and I are getting ready for our dinner.

Finally, dinner is served in the clubs at a certain time each day. Check your Personal Navigator once onboard, or the Disney Cruise Line Navigator App, for the exact times on your itinerary. Dinner in the Oceaneer Club and Lab is from about 5:30 to 6:15. If you drop your little guys off there before that time and let the counselors know they'll be eating there, they will be able to dine with new friends and then continue with the fun activities, while you sneak away for some adult alone time.

So, as you can see, your kids certainly won't go hungry or lack for fun while you're dining at Palo. Be sure to try Palo's signature chocolate souffle. It is my favorite! I've tried to recreate it at home, and while it certainly was delicious, it just wasn't as fabulous as savoring it on the ship at Palo.

    Have such fun, Tracey!
