Hi Kendra,
Welcome to the Disney Parks Moms Panel! Thank you for bringing this excellent question to us!
When my family considers the cost of a Walt Disney World Resort vacation, we factor in the value we get with staying at a Walt Disney World Resort Hotel. We have come to depend on the complimentary resort transportation, Extra Magic Hours for resort guests, being able to make Dining Reservations 180 days in advance for the length of our stay (up to 10 days) and the ability to make Fast Pass+ selections 60 days in advance.
Getting those initial Fast Pass+ selections for up to three rides per day saves us hours of standing in lines. Making dining reservations for our favorite character meals saves us hours of standing in line to get autographs from characters. So though we may pay a little more, we make up for it with the extras we have by staying on property.
Since I am not sure how many in your party are adults, children or infants, I will make a few general suggestions. You can certainly try booking two standard rooms at a
Value Resort Hotel. Or, if one of your group is an infant, you could try Disney's Art of Animation Suites or
The Cabins at Disney's Ft. Wilderness Resort that both sleep up to six adults.
When we traveled with my parents one year, we split the cost of a two-bedroom villa at Disney's Saratoga Springs Resort & Spa. I just kept checking for
Special Offers to find a price that was within our budget.
Kendra, for us, time is money. Booking our Fast Pass+ 60 days in advance is simply a must-do, especially when new rides come out like Avatar Flight of Passage!
Magic, memories and Minnie Mouse hugs,
Donyell
