I have a large family...six kids and my husband and myself. Our Kids are 1,3,5,8,9(will be 10 at end of April) and 15. What is the cheapest possible way to take a family this huge to Disney outside of camping there(which would be hard with a baby).

    Hi, Heather!

Let's gather some ideas so you can enjoy all the magic of Walt Disney World on a budget.

For your resort accommodations, I suggest 2 connecting rooms at an All-Star Resort. These Value-level rooms each have 2 double beds so there will be plenty of room for all of you. Check Special Offers for any room discounts that might be offered. Book online or call a friendly Cast Member at (407)934-7639.

When buying tickets, your kids age 3-9 will get a discounted rate, and those under the age of 3 will not need a ticket. Stick with "base" tickets without adding on any options such as the Park Hopper option. You will each receive a complimentary Magic Band so no additional cost there.

I am guessing you are going to drive to Orlando. Feel free to bring snacks. Each room will have a mini-fridge, so brings some juice boxes, breakfast bars, cereal and other basics. Toasters and microwaves are available in the food court if you need to heat anything.

For dining, stick to Quick Service. The kids meals are a great value and include sides and a drink. Cups of ice water are free at counter service locations so avoid spending money on expensive bottled water. Outside food is welcome in the parks, so you might even want to pack some sandwiches for a quick and easy lunch to feed your crew!

To avoid costly souvenirs, plan ahead. Go to your local discount store and get glow sticks, notebooks and pens (for autographs) and disposable rain ponchos. Toss everything into your tote bag and pull out the goodies as needed. This will really cut down on that impulse spending at the parks.

I hope you find the perfect vacation plan that fits your family's needs and your travel budget. Good luck!
