    Hollis from ME Asked

Our large family is going to Disney in March 2011. Some members are staying at Fort Wilderness Campground while others are staying at several different moderate resorts. Do the Disney buses run from resort to resort or only to theme parks?

    Hi Hollis,

How exciting to be enjoying your upcoming Disney World trip with so many family members. Sounds like a perfect magical gathering!

Unfortunately, in most cases, you will not be able to take Disney buses from one resort to another, The buses run from the resorts to the parks and Downtown Disney area. There are a few exceptions, when resorts are located on the same bus route as each other. For example the Animal Kingdom Lodge and Kidani Village, share a bus to the parks and therefore you would be able to take a bus from one to the other. Another example is Fort Wilderness and Wilderness Lodge. These two resorts share a busing system to certain locations and therefore you could take a bus from one to the other in this case. There are also some Disney resorts that you can move around to by using boats and the monorail. The Epcot resorts, Boardwalk, Beach and Yacht Club all operate on the same boat route, while the Grand Floridian, Contemporary and Polynesian share a monorail route.

While it will take longer, if you want to move from resort to another, take a bus from your resort to a park or Downtown Disney and then transfer to a bus for the other resort. Hope you and your family have an incredible time!
