We have a large family with 5 boys ranging in age from 12 to 3 years. We would like to take a Disney Cruise but do not know if the younger ones are ready yet. We also had thought of a Disney World vacation. I need some insight into on property accomoda

    Hi Teresa,

Welcome to the Moms Panel!  I honestly believe that Disney Cruises are not only the easiest vacations to take with little ones, and it's the ideal vacation for making every member of the family happy.

What is great about the cruises is that for children between the ages of 3-12 there are age appropriate supervised activities in the youth programming clubs.  What is nice is that the younger kids are not subjected to doing the things the older kids want to do and vice versa, they can participate in their own activities all while being in close proximity to Mom and Dad.  Parents are issued a pager, and should your child need you or want to leave the kids clubs, you will be paged to come pick them up.

Another benefit to the cruise is that not only is the food included with your cruise fare - there is something for everyone!  Whether it is in the main dining rooms, or the quick service locations by the pool you will have plenty of options for every member of your family.  No need to make advanced dining reservations or take a bus, boat or taxi to your dinner each night.

What I love most about cruising with little ones is that the quiet and serenity of your stateroom is always just a few steps away.  If the little one needs some down time, you can quickly be back to your stateroom (while the older kids continue to play).

Most staterooms accommodate up to four guests, so you will be looking at getting connecting staterooms (two staterooms with a door in-between them).

I hope this helps, good luck with your decision!
