Hi, ladies! I would like to purchase Annual Passes for my family. We have an 8-night trip planned this Nov/Dec. Is it better to upgrade our tickets once we are AT WDW or to just order them online? When do the passes activate/expire? Thank you!

Hi, Elissa!  I love, love, love my annual passes.  It's a great way to squeeze in extra trips during the year, but even if you are the type that only plans once a year, just plan a few days earlier next year, and you still have the passes to help make budgeting easier.

For me, I would find it easier to just purchase the annual passes online.  You'll get vouchers in the mail for the passes, and you can activate them at Guest Services at any of the theme parks when you arrive.  Your expiration date is based on the date that you activate your vouchers.  You will be able to make FastPass+ reservations with just the vouchers, so no worries there.

The only time I would say it was better to wait an upgrade your tickets there is if you are taking advantage of a special offer that requires a ticket purchase of a minimum number of days.  In most cases, the annual pass won't count towards that, as in those instances (such as free dining), you have to purchase your passes as part of a Magic Your Way package.  If you're not worried about booking a package, I don't see any real reason to wait.

Also, if there is a special offer for annual passholders, you can book it using your vouchers.  You will need the activated passes when you check in, so a stop to guest services will be necessary.

I hope you get to enjoy eight magical nights!
