I know you've been asked this question a lot, and in a search I found a lot of great answers. But just to confirm, since I know some of the laws have changed, and I didn't see anything recent: Do my children (2 and 7) need passports for our cruise? Thanks!

    Ahoy, Elizabeth!

Yes, we do get this question a lot at the Disney Parks Moms Panel, but I am always happy to answer this one! For your cruise, a passport is not required, but you will need a birth certificate for each child sailing. But, if you have the time and the means, I would highly recommend getting passports for each member of your family. Our family always travels with passports, one of the most important benefits being if something unthinkable happens in a foreign country, we already have the necessary documentation to travel home from that country.

As you may know, an adult passport is valid for ten years, while a child's is only good for five years. For us, this is money we are willing to spend. Also, by having our passports, we are ready to travel at the drop of a hat! You never know when a great cruise deal is going to come up that you would like to take advantage of!

I hope this helps with your Disney cruise planning. Please let us know if you have more questions before you embark on your MAGICal, DREAMy, WONDERful, or FANTAStic voyage.

    Happy Cruising, Tracy V.

“If you can dream it, you can do it” just about sums up my life. I am a mother of two amazing girls and wife to a fantastic man, all of whom support my passion for all things Disney. I am a thrill seeker, and have been fortunate enough to go parasailing high above the Disney Fantasy, zip-lining in St. Lucia, and swimming with stingrays in Grand Cayman – all while sailing the seas with Disney Cruise Line. I would love to help you plan your Disney Cruise Line vacation! Learn More About Tracy
