I know WDW has free airport and park transport for those staying onsite, but how would I go about leaving the site for a day or two without paying a large sum of money, if this is even possible?

    Hi Vicky,

Thanks for writing.  There is no Walt Disney World provided transportation off property (with the exception of Magical Express to and from Orlando International Airport).  To get off property, therefore, you have several options.  Taxis are available at all of the resorts.  Fares vary depending upon where you are travelling.  You could also rent a car for as little as one day at one of two car rental locations on property: the Car Care Center located near the Magic Kingdom (which you can access via a free shuttle from any resort) and at the Dolphin Hotel.  The least expensive option is to use the Lynx bus system (the Orlando area public bus system).  Lynx picks up at the Ticket and Transportation Center on property.  If you are planning on using this system, I recommend visiting their website and planning out your routes to ensure you arrive at your destinations as quickly as possible.

I hope this helps with some transportation options!
