I know Vacation Club members can add the dining plan to their hotel stay, but are they eligible for the free dining plan when it is offered as a promotion? Thank you for your help. Love the panel!

You are correct that Disney Vacation Club members may purchase the Dining Dining Plan when they are staying in DVC properties using their points. Unfortunately, DVC members staying on points are not eligible for free dining. The rules for free dining are quite strict and do specify that guests getting free dining must purchase a stay at a WDW hotel. Since DVC members already have their hotel rooms covered, they do not qualify for free dining.

I am a DVC member and have thought about your question myself. While it is disappointing not to qualify for free dining, I do take comfort in the fact that with the DVC I'm saving a huge amount of money on my lodging. Over the long run this more than makes up for the lack of free dining.
