I know I saw something about a switch where while waiting in line you can swap places and ride with a child and wait with another who is unable to ride instead of waiting in the line 2x. is there something where at the ride the adults can go alone?

Welcome to the Disney Parks Moms Panel, Arielle!

Rider Switch is a service that allows families with children who are unable to experience an attraction to take turns riding without waiting in line twice.  While at least one adult stays with the child(ren), the rest of the party enters the standby line to enjoy the attraction.  When they return, the waiting adult(s) use the Rider Switch pass to enter the attraction using the FastPass+ entrance. The Rider Switch entitlement allows up to three guests, so the waiting person does not need to ride alone.  If you have other children who can ride, they can have a bonus by riding with the first group and the second.  I have always used the time waiting with my younger children to enjoy a nearby attraction or entertainment, or taking them for a special snack or to shop for a souvenir.

If an adult from your party would like to experience an attraction alone, there a few attractions that offer a Single Rider entrance.  This line usually has a shorter wait than the standby queue.

At least one adult must supervise children at all times. If you need a hand during your visit, you may wish to consider In-Park Assistance offered by Kid's Nite Out childcare service.  If you'd like an adults-only evening, check out Captain Hook's Pirate Crew, a new experience just for kids debuting April 28.
