I would like to know which resorts and packages you may recommend for my daughter who is 4 years old that would guarantee the best interaction with her favorite Disney characters on her birthday within the resorts as well as the theme parks.

    Greg:

Thanks for coming to the Mom's Panel!

Most of the interaction at the WDW resorts comes at restaurants that feature Character Dining. Those restaurants are:

    * Chef Mickey's at the Contemporary Resort
    * Cinderella's Happily Ever After Dinner at 1990 Park Fare at The Grand Floridian
    * Supercalifragilistic Breakfast at 1900 Park Fare at The Grand Floridian
    * 'Ohana's Breakfast with Lilo & Stitch at The Polynesian
    * Breakfast Buffet at Cape May Cafe at the Beach Club
    * Chip & Dale are featured at the campfire sing-a-long at Fort Wilderness along with the Mickey, Minnie, Goofy, and others at Mickey's Backyard BBQ.

All of these restaurants are on the Disney Dining Plan, and if you're looking to have a lot of character meals, I find that the dining plan pays for itself, especially when it comes to children. Click here for an answer I recently gave a parent comparing the dining plans. Keep in mind that you can only get the dining plan when you purchase your room and tickets together, and many times the best values come in a Magic Your Way Vacation package.

The best interaction in the parks--without the wait, tired children, and weather--are also the restaurants. Try Crystal Palace in Magic Kingdom for a fun time with Pooh and Friends and Akershaus Banquet Hall at Epcot for their princess dining experiences!

    Wishing you a magical vacation!

My family of 6 appreciates Disney's value! Although Ft. Wilderness is our second home, we've enjoyed the resorts for business, reunions and romantic getaways. For me, Disney also means dining: last count, I'd eaten at 55 restaurants around the World! Learn More About Whitney
