I would like to know which resort would benefit my family of 5 the best. It will be myself, my husband, a 19 year old, a 16 year old and a 8 year old. I don't want us to be cramped, and I want it to be an enjoyable experience. Thanks

    Ellen:

    Hello to a fellow Mississippian!

Usually I give a handful of recommendations, but in your case, I think Beach Club would be your best fit:

    • Deluxe Rooms provide ample space to spread out, especially with two teenagers.  And just because a family of five CAN fit in a room at the moderately-priced Port Orleans Riverside, doesn't mean your 8-year-old should spend every night its trundle bed.  Beach Club's day bed will allow your youngest (or anyone who doesn't want to share the other queen) to sleep comfortably.
    • Easy access to two parks: There's no hotel closer to a park than Beach Club is to the back gate of Epcot. Add to that the 15-minute walk to Disney's Hollywood Studios or the 20-minute boat ride, and you can slip back to the hotel if the kids want to stay in the parks. Buses will take you to Magic Kingdom and Animal Kingdom.
    • The Boardwalk: I don't know if you have guys or gals, but there's a lot to love at the Boardwalk. You and your husband can enjoy the romance of its lights on Crescent Lake while your youngest takes in the magician.  ESPN Club, shopping and even a pizza take-out window makes it the place for families.
    • The pool. Hands down, I think Beach Club has one of the best pool experiences on property. Even if you come during winter, its warmed water can allow you to take it in. If you skip the pool, check out Beaches 'n' Cream for a family dessert worthy of being called a memory-maker: the Kitchen Sink.
    Wishing y'all a magical vacation!

Meet the Panelist: Whitney, Mississippi

My family of 6 appreciates Disney's value! Although Ft. Wilderness is our second home, we've enjoyed the resorts for business, reunions and romantic getaways. For me, Disney also means dining: last count, I'd eaten at 55 restaurants around the World! Learn More About Whitney
