I know I have read you can substitute a snack in lieu of a non alcoholic beverage or dessert on a QS meal. My question is do you have to use that snack credit THEN or does the restaurant add a snack credit to your plan for you to use later? Thank you!

    Hi Nancy,

Thanks for visiting the Disney Parks Moms Panel with another great question!  I always love answering Disney Dining Plan questions because they give me a chance to think about one of my favorite things to do at Walt Disney World - eating!

I've been a fan of the Disney Dining Plan for years, but love it even more since some changes were made over the summer that allow Guests even more flexibility when using their Table-Service, Quick-Service and Snack credits.  You're correct that one of those changes now allows you to swap out your non-alcoholic beverage and/or dessert for an eligible Snack item at Quick-Service locations.  However, this needs to be done in the same transaction as the rest of meal, meaning that you must select from eligible Snack items available at that same location.  I'm sorry to pass on that you cannot "bank" that Snack credit to use later.

Another change that might interest you is that you can now exchange a Quick-Service meal credit for 3 Snack credits.  This must also be done in the same transaction, but it's a great option if you have snack-lovers in your group or you have extra Quick-Service credits left over at the end of your vacation.  Or maybe you'd just rather have 3 of those Mickey's Premium Ice Cream Bars for your meal...you ARE on vacation, right?

I hope that's helpful as you make your plans, Nancy.  Wishing you many magical meals!
