I know that with FP+ we must return within the time on the FP. Is there any leeway for unexpected potty stops or naptimes with my 4 and 2 yr olds? Preschoolers just don't follow my well-made plans.

Hi, Elisabeth!  It took me six tries to actually get to ride Buzz Lightyear when it first opened thanks to toddler potty emergencies! The best laid plans are often sent off track by those pint sized potty crises!

In my experience, you have a little bit of leeway when it comes to FastPass+ return times.  The window actually remains open up to 15 minutes after the one hour window.  So, if you have a FastPass+ return time of between 1 and 2 o'clock, you can actually arrive prior to 2:15 and still enjoy the attraction.

If someone goes down for a nap, and it's looking like you might miss the entire window of opportunity, before your time opens up, either go to one of the kiosks in the theme park or go the My Disney Experience app on your smart phone.  You can make a change of time on the FastPass+ before the window you already have scheduled opens up.

Now you know that even if those unpredictable preschoolers do exactly what you expect - which is, of course, the unexpected - you won't miss your ride!

Have a wonderful Walt Disney World vacation!
