I know that Disney usually offers some type of room discount for those guests who are running the races. I am planning a trip for the 2013 princess half and was wondering if you knew what type of room discount they were going to offer?

Hi Angela!  The Princess half marathon is so much fun!  It was my first half marathon ever in 2009 and I was immediately hooked!

They do offer discounts for resorts, theme park tickets, and packages for runners.  They haven't released the host resorts or the discounts for Princess half weekend.  I can tell you that they have started offering resort packages for race weekends that can even include the Disney Dining Plan.  I don't know for sure if that will be offered for the Princess, but it is being offered for Wine and Dine half marathon weekend.

Honestly, the runner's resort rates are a good discount, but you can sometimes find even deeper discounts through Disney's special offers.  There may or may not be some that overlap with race weekends.  However, the theme park ticket discounts for runners are some of the lowest ticket prices I have ever seen.  They are a great deal!  Adding the resort, Dining Plan, and theme park tickets into one package is a very convenient way to save runners some money.

They should get the host resort information up soon after the Princess half registration opens, which will be on July 10.  You can sign up for email alerts on the Princess half marathon website to alert you when registration opens.

Please let me know if you have any other questions about getting ready for the Princess!
